MISSION TO UKRAINE EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS
The MTU Preschool Program is one of the only programs for young children with disabilities in the Zhitomir region of Ukraine. Preschool-aged children participate in meaningful lessons and purposeful play in order to develop social, academic, motor, and language skills. As a result, parents notice significant progress in their child’s capabilities as they become more active, answer questions interact with more enthusiasm and develop a desire to learn. All of these enhance home life.
SCHOOL READINESS PROGRAM
The School Readiness Program focuses on the development of competencies necessary for a student to experience integration and success in the state education system. Beyond strengthening social abilities and individual behavioral development, our program teaches key life skills including concentration, creativity, listening, intrinsic motivation, fine motor development, language, and speech.
Social Integration: In our 15 years of ministering to families with special needs children, we have influenced churches and society on their behalf. A significant shift in attitude is occurring. We now see our children and their families in local churches, out in public, participating in city events, and being recognized as citizens. We also see parents increase their engagement in independent projects that serve their children and engage in social groups, which helps to significantly decrease their isolation.
